Members have started to receive their bikes. The first members happen to be in Utah, New Mexico and other Western U.S. states. Also some of the first bikes were black, and not blue like first reported by dealers and mags. The Eastern U.S. and California are still waiting for theirs. I also know my dealer only received mine in (blue) and the dude that bought the black one is still waiting for his.

My first impression of the bike is that it is well made and has plenty of power. There is a slight vibration int he handle bars but no more then what my other bike has, which in my oppinon is not bad at all and no big deal. Also some have reported that the windscreen is not tall enough but me at 5'10" and 160lbs do not see the problem here either. At speed if you lay forward ont he tank there is little to no wind at all. At speed I mean anything over 70mph. The one disapointment is that the bike is tall, even for me but I will have to adjust the rear shock on a nice day and see if that helps out.

As for performance and handling at this point I can not comment on things as I only have around 120 mile sont he bike and the break in is 600 miles then 1000 miles, so it will be a week or two depending on if the weather gets nice enough for me to take it out.

The FZ1 or Fazer 1000 as called in Europe will be the best standard for 2001 I believe. It will compete agaist the Kawasaki ZRX1100, ZRX1200 and the Bandit 1200S.

The bike in my eyes has good looks. But I also like the Bandit 1200S and do not care so much for the ZRX1200R. However when it comes down to cost the ZRX1200 and Bandit 1200S have the new Yamaha FZ1 beat by a mile. To me cost does not matter I want something differant and something that has good performance stock, I am not into changing exhaust  and such things unless the stock one breaks or is worn out; so I want good performance out of the box. Everything and anything can have a turbo tossed on it to make it have more power but then you can not compare the two any  more as they are nothing alike. So lets keep to comparing applies to applies.
